Abstract

TOXIC DRUGS AND REMEDIES AGAINST POISONS IN THE PS. ORIBASIUS ECLOGAE

The text concerns the Ps. Oribasius' Eclogae medicamentorum and in particular focuses on the toxicological section which is quite extensive (chapter 117-135) compared to the brevity of the whole work (one book). We will analyze some selected passages, chosen within this section, to examine in comparison with the sources or the indirect tradition and to propose some new solutions of restitution and interpretation of the text.
